I am Geri Barker. I love my family, friends, Golden Retrievers, the mountains, tropical beaches, roses, and the One who created them all.

I also love living in the Shenandoah Valley and consider moving here in 1998 to be one of the best decisions our family has made. After living on a small farmette on the Shenandoah River for 10 years, when my husband and I became empty nesters, we moved into the Old Town area of Harrisonburg. Moving into the city has allowed us to enjoy all the wonderful things to do, all within walking distance. The activities at JMU, the Farmer’s Market, great restaurants downtown, the Children’s Museum, which is a great place to take grandchildren, and our church are just minutes away.

I have been in the Real Estate business since the mid-70’s and have seen the rise and fall of interest rates, buyer’s markets, seller’s markets, and everything in-between.

I have also helped sellers “overcome objections” to their home selling, “positioned” homes for sale, and “staged” homes (which all mean the same thing!).

1st time home buyers, buyers of second or even third homes, buyers relocating, investors, empty nesters, and those whose nests are getting fuller, I have worked with buyers of all ages and stages of life…

Throughout the years, one thing has remained constant. Buying and selling Real Estate is one of the most important decisions you will ever make, and experience does matter.
